Policies on refinishing firearms and accessories

Eagle Eye Shooters Supply Refinishing Policies:

My refinishing policies are designed so that there is a clear understanding of what we expect from each other.

All prices are quoted assume that we receive the firearm or item to be coated completely disassembled and do not include the reassembly of the firearm. I WILL NOT REASSEMBLE FIREARMS OR ITEMS THAT WERE SENT UNASSEMBLED. Prices also do not include return shipping and insurance and reflect a 3.5% cash discount. If you would like to receive the cash discount, please pay by Cash (if you are a local customer) USPS money order or let me know when ordering and I can send you an eCheck invoice so you can pay by check online. If paying by eCheck please know that it takes about 3 days for the eCheck to clear. I will not begin work without your invoice being paid in full and all funds clearing our processors.

I am happy to talk to you over the phone however, I prefer email. This allows me to respond to you in during times that I am not working with other customer’s firearms. Should I not answer the phone, please leave a voicemail and I will return your call as time allows. Also, note that we are in the mountain time zone and may be either a few hours ahead or behind you.

I will send a confirmation email to you prior to any work being completed. I will require you to respond to this email as confirmation that you approve the work that I will be completing. I will not begin work unless I get your WRITTEN confirmation to this email. Prices are subject to change without prior written notice. Not all firearms are the same and sometimes special circumstances may cause me to modify the quote that we have provided. I will notify you if there are any special circumstances upon receipt and inspection of the firearm and provide a revised quote before services are performed.

I will only accept either completely ASSEMBLED (if you are paying us to disassemble the firearm) or completely DISASSEMBLED firearms. If the firearm is disassembled, you must include a parts inventory so I can check off what we have received and what we are sending back. I am not responsible for parts that are missing or lost if I do not receive this inventory list and it balances with what was received in the box. Please note that I will only disassemble commonly known firearms (Beretta, Sig, Smith & Wesson, Glock, AR and AK variant firearms). If in doubt as to if I will disassemble a firearm or other item please contact me with the make and model.

To the best of my ability, I will perform a non-firing function test when completely assembled firearms or items are received. Please do not send me a firearm or item that is in a non-working condition without notifying me first. I will not begin work until I have verification that this is a non-working firearm or item.

There will be a $50 surcharge for colors that I do not regularly keep in stock.

Please note that there are some regulations in other areas that limit what colors that firearms or firearm accessories may be coated in. It is YOUR responsibility to understand any local laws, codes and/or regulations regarding firearm possession, ownership or re-finishing. Unless you are a resident of Helena, Montana I do not know of your laws, codes and/or regulations.

I will not remove staked items from your gun or item. I can either do my best to tape off the part(s) to keep the original finish or remove the finish and refinish it/them with the rest of the firearm or item (there is an additional charge if you want me to paint “dots” back on your sight).

When you approve work to be completed, you are authorizing me to DESTROY the existing finish of the firearm or item that you send to me. I will not be held responsible for the loss of “collectors value” of the firearm or item being refinished.

I do require that you use your firearm in a responsible manner and use proper storage techniques to keep the firearm or item from unauthorized individuals and children. This is especially true with brightly colored firearms as children may be attracted to these items thinking that they are toys. Should you need a safe storage device let me know as I can provide a safe storage device (firearm cable lock) with your firearm or item for a nominal charge.

I will receive firearms from individuals (with a copy of your government-issued photo ID) and FFLs. however, I only ship firearms to other FFLs. All shipments will require a signature as per the GCA of 1968.

The Gun Control Act of 1968 forbids common or contract carriers (FedEx, UPS, USPS, etc.) from knowingly delivering in interstate or foreign commerce any firearm without obtaining “written acknowledgment of receipt” from the recipient of the package or other container in which there is a firearm, per 18 U.S.C. §922(f)(2). Typically, this is accomplished when the contract carrier requests the receiving FFL or its employee to sign for the shipment when it arrives. Glock specific refinishing policies

Glock front sights that are not screwed in, they need to be replaced in the refinishing process. We can do this for an additional charge ($5, I stock OEM plastic front sights and install them free if purchased from me with your Cerakote job) or simply remove the sight and return the finished slide to you without the front sight. A picture below shows you what the underside of the front sight should look like if you have a screw in front sight. If it doesn’t look like this, it needs to be replaced in order to have a quality refinishing job.

If you have plastic OEM rear sights they will be destroyed during removal so new sights will also need to be purchased. Plastic OEM rear sights are currently $5 if supplied by me (no labor to install them if bought from me with your Cerakote job).

Any sight replacement because of the issues listed above will incur additional charges if you want them replaced. If you do not want me to replace the sights, I can return the slide without sights for no additional charge.

Glocks have a plastic channel liner in the slide. I MUST replace this when re-finishing the slide. This Channel Liner replacement adds $5 to the cost of your Cerakote job. I only use OEM Channel Liners from Glock.

If you have any questions about my Refinishing Policies please feel free to contact me.
